INM Pinergy Challenge Launched
Daisyhouse Housing Association is set to benefit from the Independent News and Media (INM) Pinergy Challenge which will take place from 17th – 21st August 2017. Over the course of five days, participants will cycle along the length of Ireland’s West coast from Mizen Head to Malin Head. This awe inspiring 700km cycle climbs over the Cork and Kerry Mountains, through the Burren and along The Wild Atlantic territories of Mayo and Sligo before finishing at the majestic Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal. The charity cycle hopes to raise €40,000 for Daisyhouse Housing Association.
The INM PINERGY Challenge is aimed at people with a reasonable level of fitness, a great sense of determination, comradeship and spirit. Optional pre-event training sessions will be provided to ensure all participants are ready and able to enjoy regular long days in the saddle. Transport, accommodation, food and supports such as a cycle leader and support vehicle will all be provided to cyclists taking part.
Launching the INM Pinergy Challenge, Enda Gunnell, CEO Pinergy, said: “Pinergy is delighted to be supporting this fantastic challenge. It promises to be a fun and rewarding five days cycling through some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery, with the goal of raising much needed funds for Daisyhouse. Daisyhouse does very valuable work, at a time when it is needed more than ever. We are delighted to be able to support them in this way.”
Orla Gilroy, CEO Daisyhouse, said: “Women become homeless for different reasons – domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual violence, addiction, ill health, relationship breakdown, trafficking, coming out of state care, loss of income and other complex traumas. The women who are referred to us have faced a combination of these complex challenges. When this happens, they need support, time and a safe space where they can start to rebuild from the trauma of their past experiences, feel safe and secure and, in time, move forward in their lives. Daisyhouse provides this support, time and safe space for these women. We are thrilled to be getting the support of INM and Pinergy with this fantastic initiative.”
Paul Muldoon, Advertising Manager, INM, said “INM are delighted to be part of such an exciting and rewarding challenge not just to raise much need funds for Daisyhouse but also to raise awareness of this inspiring charity. This magnificent event in partnership with Pinergy will see up to 40 men and women travel through some of Ireland’s most beautiful areas over a 5-day period all for one shared cause.”
The INM Pinergy Challenge is an invitation only event with all funds raised going directly to Daisyhouse. Further information can be found here: https://www.inmpinergychallenge.com
